Iranian leader appears publicly

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (86) has made his first public appearance since the end of the conflict with Israel and the US. Iran's Supreme Leader attended a ceremony marking Ashura, the conclusion of a ten-day Shia mourning period.

In hiding during conflict

During the twelve-day war, Khamenei remained out of sight to prevent his location from being compromised. Israeli Defense Minister Katz later admitted that eliminating Khamenei was an objective, but his hiding place couldn't be located. US President Trump also confirmed knowledge of Khamenei's whereabouts but denied current plans for an attack.

Heavy losses

Despite Khamenei's victory claim following the ceasefire, Iran suffered significant losses. The nuclear program sustained heavy damage, though the exact extent remains unclear. Human casualties are estimated at over 900 dead and thousands wounded. The international community monitors Iran's nuclear developments with growing concern.
