A rhesus macaque created chaos in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh when it snatched a bag containing ₹80,000 in cash from a local resident. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning when the monkey descended from a tree and grabbed the bag that was momentarily left unattended.

Eyewitnesses reported the bizarre scene as the monkey climbed a tall banyan tree with the stolen bag. In a dramatic turn of events, the primate began tearing open the bag and showering ₹500 notes from the treetop, creating a spectacle that drew crowds of villagers.

Villagers' Recovery Efforts

Local residents immediately gathered beneath the tree, attempting to recover the falling currency notes. According to reports, approximately ₹65,000 was recovered by the community, while the remaining ₹15,000 either remained stuck in tree branches or was carried away by the wind.
