Largest Drone Attack on Ukraine Since Russian Invasion in 2022

Russia launched a massive drone attack on Ukraine overnight. According to the Ukrainian military, 273 projectiles were involved, marking the largest drone assault since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022. The attack targeted the capital Kyiv and the Donetsk region.

A regional official in Kyiv reported that a 28-year-old woman was killed, and three others, including a 4-year-old child, were injured.

The Ukrainian military intercepted nearly 90 drones and disrupted others by jamming their signals. Some drones carried no explosives, likely to increase the chances of explosive-laden drones reaching their targets.

Meanwhile, the Russian military claimed to have shot down 25 Ukrainian drones in a border region, resulting in one fatality.

The attack followed recent talks between Ukraine and Russia, where a prisoner exchange was agreed upon, but no ceasefire was reached. US President Trump is scheduled to call Russian President Putin to discuss ending the war.
