A U.S. appeals court has ruled that President Trump can temporarily exclude the Associated Press (AP) from parts of the White House, overturning a lower court's decision from April. The lower court had initially ruled that AP journalists must be granted access to the Oval Office during press conferences and on Air Force One.

The dispute arose after AP refused to adopt Trump's preferred term 'Gulf of America' instead of 'Gulf of Mexico.' Trump criticized AP as a 'third-rate operation' with 'radical-left idiots.' AP argued that its freedom of speech was violated and initially won the case, but the appeals court has now suspended that ruling pending further review.

AP expressed disappointment, while Trump celebrated the decision on Truth Social, calling it a 'big win.' AP is one of the world's largest news agencies, supplying content to media outlets globally.
