Drug-Fueled Hammer Attack on German Train Injures Four

A 20-year-old Syrian national attacked passengers aboard a high-speed ICE train in Bavaria, Germany, on Thursday while under the influence of multiple drugs. Victims included three Syrians (aged 15, 24, and 51) and a 38-year-old German man. The German passenger first noticed suspicious behavior and was attacked while attempting an emergency call. German prosecutors revealed toxicology reports detected three substances in the suspect's system. The attacker, residing in Austria, had prior convictions including aggravated assault earlier this year. Passengers including a uniformed soldier subdued the assailant during the attack. The suspect sustained serious injuries during the confrontation and remains hospitalized under police guard.
