Container Ship Fire Off West African Coast

A serious fire has erupted aboard the Marie Maersk container vessel approximately 50 nautical miles off the coast of Liberia. The ship, operated by Danish shipping giant Maersk, was en route from Rotterdam to Port Klang, Malaysia when crew members detected smoke emanating from cargo containers yesterday.
