Airbus Delivers First Two NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopters to Spanish Navy

Albacete, 29 May 2025 – Airbus Helicopters has officially delivered the first two NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopters (MSPT) to the Spanish Navy from its Albacete facility. These helicopters are part of a second batch of Spain’s NH90 programme, which totals 23 aircraft.

The MSPT variant is designed for amphibious tactical transport, featuring reinforced landing gear, naval communications, and automatic folding systems for shipboard operations. It can transport up to 20 troops or a light vehicle and operate under challenging conditions.

Fernando Lombo, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in Spain, highlighted the collaboration with the Spanish Navy and DGAM, ensuring operational readiness by summer.
