The British authorities are investigating potential bribery related to the construction of a Microsoft data center in Middenmeer, North Holland. The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has searched five properties and made three arrests in the UK.

The SFO is examining the relationship between UK construction firm Blu-3 and former employees of Mace Group regarding the Microsoft data center project in Hollands-Kroon. Blu-3 employees are suspected of paying over £3 million (€3.6 million) in bribes to former Mace Group staff. Microsoft is not part of the investigation.

Over 70 SFO officers conducted searches in London, Kent, and Monaco. Blu-3 and Microsoft have not yet responded, while Mace Group stated it takes the allegations seriously and will cooperate fully with the investigation.
