Survivors Confront Congress Over Epstein Cover-Up

Marina Lacerda, a 37-year-old Brazilian-American woman who grew up in Florida, broke her silence publicly for the first time today at the U.S. Capitol. She joined a dozen other survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking ring to demand President Trump order the complete release of all documents related to the Epstein case.

Bipartisan Pressure Mounts

The survivors are supporting a bipartisan proposal from Democrats and four Republicans that would force Attorney General Pam Bondi to release the much-discussed documents. The legislation has gained support from prominent MAGA representatives Marjory Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert.

Republican Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky, the initiative's sponsor, stated he needs just two more Republican signatures to achieve a majority, assuming all Democrats sign on. Massie revealed he's facing intense internal pressure to abandon his efforts.

Trump's Controversial Response

President Trump dismissed the survivors' press conference as a "Democratic hoax" designed to distract from his administration's successes. His comments deeply wounded the victims, with one responding: "This is no hoax, and we're not going anywhere. It feels like being ripped open from the inside."

The survivors extended an invitation for Trump to meet with them personally, emphasizing they are "real people with real trauma." Trump had been friends with Epstein for years but claims they fell out over Epstein's inappropriate behavior at Trump's Florida golf resort.

Recent Document Releases Fall Short

Last week, 33,000 pages from the Epstein dossier were released, but according to Democrats, this represents only about 1% of the total material. The released documents contained mostly known information from previous court cases.

The survivors plan to compile their own list of names of individuals involved with Epstein's operations, rejecting the term "client list" as it implies consent from the victims, who prefer to be called "survivors."
