US Conducts Third Maritime Strike Against Suspected Drug Smuggling Vessel
The United States military has conducted another strike against a vessel allegedly involved in drug smuggling operations, marking the third such operation within a month. President Donald Trump announced the attack via social media, stating that three individuals were killed in the operation.

According to President Trump, "Intelligence agencies confirmed the ship was smuggling drugs and following a known drug route." He further claimed the vessel was en route to the United States "to poison Americans." This represents at least the third US military action against suspected drug smuggling vessels from Venezuela within the past month. In early September, eleven people were killed in a similar strike, while three more fatalities occurred in another attack last Monday.
Tren de Aragua: The Targeted Organization
The US has designated the Venezuelan criminal organization Tren de Aragua as a terrorist group. According to Wikipedia, this transnational criminal organization has expanded throughout Latin America and the United States amid mass migration of Venezuelans fleeing President Nicolás Maduro's regime.
"This gang represents a clear and present danger to American citizens and our national security," President Trump stated in recent remarks about the organization.
International Criticism and Legal Concerns
Human Rights Watch has condemned these military actions, calling them "unlawful extrajudicial executions." The organization argues that such strikes violate international law regarding the use of force and due process.
Geopolitical Tensions Escalate
The Trump administration maintains that these military operations are necessary to stem the flow of drugs into the United States. President Trump has offered a $50 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Venezuelan President Maduro, whom he accuses of collaborating with drug traffickers.
Venezuela has consistently denied these allegations, with President Maduro claiming that the US seeks to remove him from power through these accusations and military actions.
