US Raid Kills Top ISIS Commander in Northern Syria

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed today that its forces conducted a targeted raid in al-Bab, Syria, resulting in the death of senior ISIS leader Dhiya' Zawba Muslih al-Hardani. The operation, carried out yesterday morning, also eliminated Hardani's two adult sons who were active ISIS members.

Operation Details and Context

According to CENTCOM's official statement, all three individuals posed a direct threat to US troops and regional allies. While specific intelligence details weren't disclosed, military officials emphasized the strategic significance of neutralizing this ISIS leadership cell. Three women and three children present at the location emerged unharmed from the operation.

Persistent Counterterrorism Efforts

Approximately 2,000 US troops remain stationed in Syria as part of ongoing efforts to combat ISIS resurgence. CENTCOM commander General Michael Kurilla reiterated the commitment to pursuing ISIS operatives: "We continue to hunt ISIS terrorists relentlessly. They have no safe haven - whether sleeping, operating, or hiding."
