Masters champion Rory McIlroy has expressed his excitement about playing his first tournament in India at the DP World India Championship later this year. The five-time major winner will compete in the new event at Delhi Golf Club from 16-19 October.

"I'm excited to not only tee it up in India for the first time but also visit a country I've always wanted to explore," said McIlroy. He emphasized the potential to grow golf in India and looks forward to engaging with local fans.

McIlroy will also return to the Australian Open in December for the first time in 11 years. His upcoming schedule includes the Memorial Tournament, Canadian Open, and US Open.
