England's Matt Wallace is tied for second place at the Charles Schwab Challenge after shooting a first-round four-under-par 66. He is part of a nine-player group trailing PGA Tour rookie John Pak by three shots at Colonial Country Club.

Wallace was level par after the front nine but made three birdies in the first five holes on the back nine, finishing with another birdie. American Pak, who has one top-25 finish this year, carded a career-best 63 with five birdies and an eagle.

World number one Scottie Scheffler, fresh from winning the PGA Championship, is tied for 20th after a 68.
