The US Department of Homeland Security has revoked Harvard University's permit to host foreign students, effective immediately. This move escalates the conflict between the Trump administration and the prestigious institution. Thousands of international students must now leave Harvard, find another school, or depart the US. Harvard has approximately 6,800 foreign students, about a quarter of its total enrollment.

The Department of Homeland Security demands Harvard's cooperation in an investigation into campus extremism, alleging hostility toward Jewish students and a discriminatory diversity policy. The university has called the action unlawful and plans to challenge it in court. Harvard has already filed a lawsuit against the freezing of $2.3 billion in government funding.
