While violence continues in Gaza, representatives from 84 countries gathered in Rabat, Morocco, to discuss a two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The meeting, co-organized by Morocco and the Netherlands, aims to present recommendations at the United Nations in June.

Both the Netherlands and Morocco support a two-state solution in the Middle East. The highest-ranking Dutch official present was Christiaan Rebergen, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He emphasized the importance of international efforts toward a political solution, despite current challenges.

The meeting coincides with a shift in Dutch policy regarding Israel and Gaza. Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp proposed an EU investigation into potential human rights violations by Israel. Meanwhile, Morocco faces domestic pressure to sever ties with Israel, despite their diplomatic relations established in 2020.
