This assessment comes after NATO aircraft intercepted Russian drones over Poland earlier this month and Russian fighter jets briefly entered Estonian airspace last week.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte commented on the escalating situation: "The attacks were either deliberate or outright incompetence. We cannot tolerate these violations of sovereign airspace."
