Google has announced its largest offshore wind projects to date in collaboration with Shell and Eneco. The agreements involve Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for two new offshore wind farms, HKN V and HKW VI, with a combined capacity of 478 megawatts. These projects are expected to contribute approximately 6% of the Netherlands' annual electricity consumption. Google aims to achieve 90% carbon-free energy for its data centers and offices in the Netherlands by 2024 and net-zero emissions by 2030. The company is also investing in local sustainable energy initiatives, including solar panels and heat recovery systems.
