A new search operation has begun in southern Portugal for Madeleine McCann, the British girl who disappeared in 2007. German authorities are leading the investigation, focusing on 20 locations near Praia da Luz, where McCann vanished. The search, which started this morning and will continue until Friday, involves radar equipment capable of scanning up to 4.5 meters underground.

The primary suspect, Christian Brückner, is currently imprisoned in Germany for unrelated crimes. Authorities are racing against time as Brückner's prison term is set to end soon. The search includes examining water wells and ruins in the area.
