The incident occurred early Saturday morning when Ramirez drove onto the sidewalk of Santa Monica Boulevard, targeting crowds waiting outside The Vermont nightclub.

Emergency services reported 30 injured victims, including eight critically wounded individuals. Witnesses described scenes of chaos as the gray Nissan Versa struck food carts before colliding with a light pole. Security footage confirms Ramirez intentionally accelerated toward pedestrians.

Court documents reveal Ramirez's extensive criminal record, including a prior conviction for assaulting a Black man in Laguna Beach. Open cases against him include a 2024 DUI charge and 2022 domestic violence allegations.
