Max Verstappen secured a surprising victory at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, overcoming a late safety car to dominate the race. He credited improvements in car setup and updates for the win. Next week's Monaco GP may pose a greater challenge.

After a tough period, Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing were back on top with a convincing victory at the Emilia-Romagna Formula 1 Grand Prix. Despite a late safety car erasing his lead, the four-time world champion proved to be the fastest in all aspects.

"I'm very surprised and happy with this result. Hopefully, we can repeat this more often. The track's fast-flowing corners suit our car well, but this was just a great weekend overall. We improved with each session, and the updates worked," said Verstappen.

Verstappen took the lead with a bold overtake on Oscar Piastri, who started from pole position. "The start wasn't great, but I had just enough grip to make the move. It wasn't easy, but I'm glad it worked out."

Piastri admitted Verstappen caught him off guard: "I thought I had it under control, but it was a learning moment. His pace was hard to match."

Lando Norris, who finished second for McLaren, acknowledged Verstappen's dominance: "Max was untouchable today. We weren't fast enough."

Next week, the Monaco Grand Prix awaits, a race Verstappen expects to be more challenging due to its slow corners.
