The Royal Thai Air Force has officially selected the Saab Gripen E/F as its new multi-role fighter aircraft. Saab and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) will proceed with the procurement process with Thailand.

No contract has been signed yet, but the offer includes Gripen E/F aircraft, equipment, and a long-term offset package to benefit Thailand's security and economy.

"We welcome this decision and look forward to supporting Thailand's independent airpower," said Micael Johansson, CEO of Saab.

Thailand has operated Gripen C/D since 2011.
