The victim allegedly slept on a deck chair and was forced to use a potty or plastic bags as a toilet.

'She spent entire days outside in the cold and rain and was also a victim of violence,' according to sources close to the investigation. The woman claimed her food was contaminated with dish soap, she was forced to wash with bleach, and was kept in a drugged state from medication.

Dramatic Escape and Hospitalization

On October 14, 2025, the woman managed to escape while the male suspect was watching television. She fled to a neighbor's house wearing minimal clothing and was immediately hospitalized in a state of hypothermia. Medical examinations revealed she had lost approximately 50 kilograms during her captivity.

Police investigation confirmed the victim's claims, finding the garage door blocked from the outside with concrete blocks. 'The victim is psychologically vulnerable, otherwise she would probably have defended herself differently,' explained the prosecutor, noting that she had escaped several times before but always returned to the house.

The alleged captors are accused of systematically plundering the victim's bank accounts and collecting her social security benefits throughout the five-year period. Both suspects have been charged with kidnapping combined with torture or acts of barbarity under French criminal law.
