IBM is simplifying the enterprise data stack with new software designed to unify, govern, and activate unstructured data for AI applications. The introduction of watsonx.data integration and watsonx.data intelligence aims to enhance data fabric capabilities for generative AI. These tools integrate with IBM's hybrid, open data lakehouse, watsonx.data, offering 40% more accurate AI results compared to conventional RAG methods, as per IBM's internal testing.

Lockheed Martin has already leveraged these innovations, enabling 70,000 employees to access information from millions of documents using natural language. The new products address the challenge of harnessing unstructured data, which constitutes up to 90% of enterprise data, according to IDC.
