Three people have died and at least ten others were injured after a lightning strike at the famous Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia, according to Asian media reports.

The incident occurred around 5:00 PM local time, when a large number of visitors and locals were present at the UNESCO World Heritage site, one of Cambodia's most popular tourist attractions.

The victims were reportedly from the provinces of Phnom Penh, Kampot, and surrounding areas. Following online discussions about the tragedy, many Cambodians urged the removal of related social media posts to avoid alarming potential tourists and protect the country's image.
