Dozens injured after car drives into crowd in Liverpool, 'no terrorism'

An incident in the English city of Liverpool last night, where a car drove into a crowd of celebrating football fans, is considered an "isolated incident" and not terrorism. A suspect, a 53-year-old man from the Liverpool area, has been arrested. According to police, the arrested driver is believed to be the only person involved in the incident.

Authorities reported that 27 people, including four children, were taken to the hospital. Two of them sustained serious injuries. Another 20 people were treated at the scene.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident and have urged the public not to speculate or share "disturbing content" online.

Witnesses stated that the driver plowed through the crowd, hitting multiple people before briefly stopping. When the crowd attacked the vehicle and began smashing its windows, the driver accelerated again, knocking over more people.

Thousands of Liverpool fans had gathered in the city center to celebrate their Premier League title. The police received a report around 7:00 PM that a car had collided with pedestrians on Water Street in Liverpool's city center.
