Tragic Discovery in France

The body of an 80-year-old Dutch woman, who had been missing along with her husband, was discovered in France, according to family reports. Authorities have indicated no signs of foul play at this stage.

Search for the Husband Continues

The woman's body was found yesterday, though the exact location remains undisclosed by French authorities to avoid compromising the ongoing search for her 83-year-old husband. The couple, residents of Alphen aan den Rijn, had left for their vacation home in Planchez, a village in the Morvan region approximately 80 kilometers west of Dijon, a week ago. However, they never arrived.

Last Known Movements

The couple was last seen stopping in Charleroi, Belgium, during their journey. Belgian police suspect they may have lost their way afterward. Since last Friday, their phones have been unreachable, and concerns for the husband, who suffers from diabetes, are mounting. His medication was left at home, and he typically monitored his blood sugar levels via his phone.

Family's Anguish

The family expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the woman and remains anxious about the whereabouts of the husband. They have requested privacy to allow authorities to conduct their investigation without interference.
