Google has announced the start of construction for a new data center in Winschoten, Oldambt municipality, representing a €600 million investment. Since 2014, Google has invested €3.8 billion in data centers and related digital infrastructure in the Netherlands. The new facility is expected to create dozens of jobs, in addition to thousands of indirect jobs during construction.

Local officials and Google representatives highlighted the economic benefits and sustainable infrastructure plans, including renewable energy initiatives and heat recovery systems.
