The European Commission has introduced mandatory medical checks for all drivers every 15 years as part of the Vision Zero project. While no direct sanctions are planned based on age, member states will organize and fund these medical visits. If approved, the reform could take effect as early as 2025.
Critics, like the association "40 millions d'automobilistes," argue that young drivers are often responsible for accidents, questioning the fairness of uniform evaluations. Meanwhile, countries like Italy and Finland already implement similar systems, with varying frequencies based on age.
