About Fall River

Fall River is a historic mill city in Bristol County, Massachusetts with approximately 94,000 residents. Located 50 miles south of Boston near Mount Hope Bay, the city was once a textile manufacturing powerhouse. Today it's known for Battleship Cove, home to the world's largest collection of WWII naval vessels.

The city has faced economic challenges since the decline of textile manufacturing but maintains a strong Portuguese-American cultural presence. This tragedy represents one of the deadliest senior care facility fires in recent Massachusetts history.
