In Alaska, a man survived being trapped under a 700-pound boulder for three hours with his face submerged in a mountain stream. Kell Morris, 61, credits his wife and sheer luck for his survival.

The couple was hiking near the Godwin Glacier south of Anchorage when Morris slipped, fell six meters, and became pinned under the boulder. His wife, Jo, a police officer, kept his head above water until rescuers arrived. A helicopter from a nearby sled dog company eventually freed him.
