Prisoner exchange completed: 1000 Russians and Ukrainians return home

Russia and Ukraine completed a major prisoner exchange, releasing 1000 prisoners each, while Russia continued military attacks on Ukraine.

Russia and Ukraine have completed the largest prisoner exchange since the start of the war, with each side releasing an additional 303 prisoners. The exchange began on Friday with 390 prisoners and continued with 307 more on each side yesterday, bringing the total to 1000 released Russians and 1000 Ukrainians. Today's exchange involved only military personnel, while previous swaps included civilians.

The agreement was reached last week in Istanbul during direct talks, though a ceasefire was not achieved. Meanwhile, Russia conducted large-scale nighttime attacks on Ukraine, with last night's assault being the largest in weeks, resulting in at least 12 deaths and dozens injured.
