Musk Threatens to Scrap Dragon Spacecraft, Raising Concerns for Manned Spaceflight

Elon Musk threatened to end SpaceX's Dragon program after a dispute with Donald Trump, potentially jeopardizing NASA's manned spaceflight capabilities. Musk later retracted the threat, but tensions remain high.

Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, threatened to terminate the Dragon program following a heated exchange with former US President Donald Trump. The Dragon spacecraft is currently NASA's only operational vehicle capable of transporting astronauts and cargo to the International Space Station (ISS). Without it, NASA would have to rely on Russian Soyuz capsules again.

Musk later retracted his threat after a user on X advised him to step back from the conflict. However, the fallout between Musk and Trump has escalated, with Trump threatening to cancel federal contracts with Musk's companies.
