The Ukrainian secret service SBU claims to have attacked the bridge between Crimea and Russia with explosives. Damage was reportedly caused to pillars and railings. Russia states that traffic over the bridge is temporarily impossible.

According to the SBU, 1100 kilograms of explosives were detonated underwater near the bridge connecting Crimea to the mainland. No casualties have been reported.

The 17-kilometer-long bridge is a crucial supply route for Russian troops in the war with Ukraine. Both road and rail transport use the bridge. Crimea has been occupied by Russia since 2014.

Ukraine also conducted drone attacks on power supplies in Russian-occupied territories, leaving 700,000 people without electricity. Russia retaliated with missile strikes, resulting in casualties.
