Adidas has reported a data breach. Hackers allegedly compromised a customer service provider. The German sportswear brand has taken measures to limit the damage and has launched an investigation.
The stolen data includes customer contact information, but according to Adidas, no payment details or passwords were leaked. The company has informed the relevant authorities. Affected customers are yet to be notified. Adidas has not disclosed details about the identity of the affected service provider. It remains unclear how many customers were impacted or whether Adidas' own systems were breached.
This is not the first data breach at the sportswear company. Earlier in May, Adidas reported leaks affecting customers in Turkey and South Korea. Contact details, including phone numbers, names, email addresses, addresses, and birthdates, were leaked. In June 2018, contact details and passwords of American users were also stolen, affecting millions.
